Why it matters

How we handle the conflict of interest

Being paid by one company creates a conflict of interest, and we would rather name it than hide it. This is how we manage it:

  • Facts are sourced. Fees, minimums, buyback terms and company history come from each company’s published materials, the BBB, the IRS and the CFTC. You can check them yourself.
  • Drawbacks are published. We list Augusta’s limits plainly, including its $50,000 minimum and its gold-and-silver-only lineup, and we explain which readers are better served by another company.
  • The same rules apply to every company. Every provider is compared on the same criteria. See How We Review Gold IRA Companies.
Not advice

Information only, not financial advice

Everything on Plain Talk Retirement is general information for educational purposes. It is not investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation that any particular person buy precious metals or open a gold IRA. Precious metals prices go up and down, past performance does not guarantee future results, and a gold IRA can carry higher costs than a standard IRA. Please speak with a licensed financial professional before moving retirement savings.
